My Favourite Room

I love my bathroom. I have an extra deep tub that is slanted just so. I glazed the tiles myself to go around the tub. Its a serpent loosely based on the Toltec mythology of Quetzalcoatl.
Don Miguel Ruiz suggests when one goes to the Pyramids at Teotihuacan, that when traversing the Avenue of the Dead, one enters the mouth of the serpent. The idea is to come out at the other end, through the other head, thoroughly transformed.
I love lighting candles and adding soothing bathsalts and scent to the water. Sometimes I listen to music, other times I put on an inspirational audio book and soak for awhile.

Bathrooms are my favorite rooms, too! I hate my current bathroom. It's tiny and cramped with a terrible tub, but next month we'll be moving into a house with two bathrooms. The one with the tub will be mine. :)

I love the serpent tiles.

Nothing better than a relaxing bubble bath.

Ooooh, that bathroom looks absolutely sublime! I am so jealous. They have a marvelous clawfoot tub here, but it isn't hooked up to any plumbing, so all I have is a cramped shower stall.

Hi, thanks you two,
I had the tub put in last year. It used to be just a shower stall.
I love clawfoots even more and considered buying one but I used to have one in another house and I found them hard to clean around and under.
Long luxurious baths are a way I love my self.

Looks very inviting - like the tiles and dragon. My bath tub in Az. is too short to lie back and enjoy and the water is so hard I don't get any suds - not my favorite place. Miss my tub in CR. Enjoy yours tho.

Tanya and Joy,
yes, peaceful and sacred.
I intended it so.

Hi Mom.
That's too bad about your tub. I hear that you can put baking soda in the water to soften it along with the bubbles.
I guess having a swimming pool makes up for it.

Looks terrific!

I love soaking in a tub, tons of bubble baths candles yep the ultimate girlie experience!

Today Stagg mumbled under his breath...I'm going to get in touch with my feminine side and have a bath. He's so funny!

I dream of having a swimming pool...I would be in it all day and never get anything done! Heh heh.

One of my favourite activities is getting oganized and booking a spa day. I feel like I need one NOW just looking at your room.

What a good decision you made installing and renovating your favourite room!

Baths are therapeutic for me, and I do connect with my inner self in ways I don't elsewhere. It must be incredible to have your own creativity surrounding you there in your sanctuary.
