Appreciation

Recently. I read in a book that the word/concept Appreciating has another side to it.
I am about to make another list of Appreciation, and I wanted to pass along the idea:..... like stocks and bonds.....what we focus on...will Appreciate.....the Value will Increase.

I Appreciate in my life right now:

My amazing talented and loving children

Courageous friends to explore the experience of transcendence with.

The opportunity to create spontaneous composed music. ( so fun!)

Being surrounded by burgeoning nature.

Thanks to my son, having an excellent computer and being connected to the vast resource called the net.

My unconditionally loving pets.

My really comfy bed.

Hi Marc,

It feels like I have that many sometimes...
But actually 3 of my 4 are pictured here. I am in the blue hoodie, flanked by a son and daughter, the other son is on the far left.
The woman in red is my Sister-in-law and my nephew is the bearded one.

I'm not sure that I am happy, but I do know what feels like suffering and what feels good.

Appreciation feels good.

Tanya,

I love your list.
Thankyou for sharing with us.

My appreciation is:

1. to have a caring husband that hes able to work

2. my children are healthy for the most part.

3. i am able to get up every morning and take care of them and make hubbys lunch and send him off to his job.

4. that we have our house finally.

5. we have our car and we get places rather quickly if need be.

6. my coyness when I want something. its very important to me.

7. my skill to crochet. i know this sounds vague but only if you knew what i do with all my afghans.

8. just life in general.

I think that is all i can think of for right now.

Wow, 4 children, huh? Congratulations on raising 4 kids!

Isn't amazing the shift in our mood when we focus on what we have and what we appreciate versus what we don't want and what we don't appreciate?

It's so simple yet sometimes so rare. Sounds like the perfect skill to cultivate and refine. It has amazing power.

Thankyou for the acknowledgement, Marc.
Raising children has been my career of choice.
And yes, I have really noticed the benefits of appreciating. They are instant.
Just listing off a few things puts me in a good mood.

I have to agree with that. Being a stay at home mom has brought me the benefits of knowing that my children arent being raised by others. Esp with day care being so high now a days.
